A little about me
Chef Kirk Myers knew from a very early age that he loved food and his passion involved more than savouring the foods that he enjoyed. He had a passion for the sight, smell and presentation of many different cuisines and this awakened a desire to become involved with the food industry. Chef Myers attended Jose Marti Technical High School and immersed himself in home economics and food nutrition. After high school, he attended HEART Boys Vocational Training Centre, graduating at Level Three before continuing to attain a supervisory management diploma from the University of Technology. Later he would finish his studies at the Culinary Institute of America, where he received his designation as a certified executive chef.
Since graduating, Chef Myers has worked with a variety of resort properties including Sandals, Iberostar, Superclubs and Rosehall. He was recently the executive sous chef with Disney cruises before leaving to work for Taste of Jamaica in Corner Brook, bringing with him his love for food as he brings a fusion Jamaican menu that will appeal to Newfoundland taste buds.
